My father (Spencer Driver) is also reported as saying that Isaac was "sold" as a baby for half-a-crown.
He also said that his father Isaac was known locally as Peter Mayhew until he got married.
Isaac does appear to have lived with James and Hannah Mayhew from before the 1871 census when he was aged 3 until he married in 1891.
